Everybody reaps the fruit of  his own deeds.

 心有多远,就能到多远!

One can go anywhere as far as his mind reaches.

=============================

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, and it is not proud. Love is not rude, it is not selfish, and it cannot be made angry easily. Love does not remember wrongs done against it. Love is never happy to see others do wrong, but it is always happy to hear the truth. Love never gives up on people. It never stops trusting, never loses hope, and never quits. Love will never end. But all those gifts will come to an end even the gift of prophecy, the gift of speaking in different kinds of languages, and the gift of knowledge.

Uncle Lee,you've told us several times somethings like this, but I just think it's our hope.Does this saying really work?I don't think so,and so do many people. How can you try to convince us of this saying?I am looking forward to your explanation.

healther - 2005-8-2 20:46:00

Uncle Lee,I recently had dreams that I was followed by someone, and finally I was killed by such a damn man.So how can you explain with your knowledge?

Bruce_Lee - 2005-8-3 13:34:00

Healther, before answering your question, I have some points for your consideration first:

1) For something "bad", say tsunami, happened to human beings, no one will ever hope or expect such disaser happen to them, yet it happened and will still happen in the future.  Why?

2)  This saying's working or not is completely not subjected to anyone's will. For example, no one would want to be poor, but still he's penniless.  No one would want to get sick, but still he suffers from some incurable disease. So things happen in this world do not move according to our sweet will, but by the superior arrangement of the material nature.  So logically, human beings are under strict control by the laws of material nature.  But I'm asking you who on earth is the superintendant of Nature?

By the way, for subjects of this kind, no one could try to convince anyone their "reasonability" or "authenticity", because hardly anyone would think it true or possible unless he's self-realized or has performed some great piety from his past lifes.   That's why there're always two classes of men in the world, the believers and the nonbelievers.

As an adorer of God and seer of the Truth, I personally undertand why things happen like that and the real cause of such.  Yet it's absolutely no use to reveal the truth or secrets to the faithless, for it'll simply incur offense to the speaker, the listener (who does not have any faith or respect to God) and to God Himself.  In a word, you believe, you believe; you don't believe, you go your own way.  No force; no convince; no bother.  Then both will be happy doing their own way.  Please kindly understand.

Bruce_Lee - 2005-8-3 13:43:00

He who lets slip his opportunityand turns not the occasion to accountfinds not again the fitting time for actionthough he may strive to execute his work.

谁放走他的机遇,也不掌握时机,谁就再也找不到恰当的时间去行动,虽然他兢兢业业劳碌不已。

--《摩诃婆罗多》12·10330(印度)

healther - 2005-8-3 20:48:00

I will try my best to explain what do I think of your questions:

1)Something "bad" happened to human beings, yes, they do,but I don't think they are arranged by God.They happened accidently, not because it's a certainty.

2)"This saying's working or not is completely not subjected to anyone's will."But have you ever seen some people did bad things but they never incured punishment by God or government? If there is God really existing, why do not He punish them in this life?

If God really exists, can He do everything? If He can do everything, why do not He punish the nonbelievers; If He can not do everything, then I believe something"bad" happened to human beings are not arranged by Him,it's just accident.

Lastly,I'd like to say that I doubt there is God really existing, and I hope what I said will not irritate you, because you know,I just really want to know which is the truth.Thank you!

Bruce_Lee - 2005-8-3 22:56:00

All right. If things happened just accidently as you thought, then who has made them happen? So someone must be there, seen or unseen, as the judge and executer of people's action.

If you have ever heard of and fully understood the deeper meaning of the famous saying of "不是不报,时辰未到;时辰一到,一切都报", you probably realize something.

God, by definition, means He is all-omnipotent and omniscient.  There is nothing that God cannot do. God has His own plan and God is never subjected to the small ideas and mental speculation of the small brain of some insignificant living beings.  It's not our business to know the big plan of God just as much as it's totally against common sense for a junior employee to probe into the planning of his boss.  That's what I can tell you.  And your believing in God or not is also not my business.  Again, there're always believers and nonbelievers in this world and universe.   How will I be irritated by your words of denial.  In your own words, there is always reasonable for things existing in this world, plus being a beliver or worshipper of God is all-legitimate as well, isn't it?

"I just really want to know which is the truth", but from what I've been discussing with you,  it seems you always have your own way of "truth" within your mind, doesn't it?  So I suppose you yourslef are self-confessed by own youself as the "truth".

BTW, one must be a believer to become the president of the US or some other European countries, right?

Hi, Doc.,

Thank you for joining me.  Very good quote!

He who practices an act of piety in public, he who is always avaricious, he who is observing things under some pretext, he who is deceiving the public, the hypocrite, the injurious, he who deceives all, he who has always a downward look, the severe, the selfish, the rogue, one of pseudo-humility, the impostor, --all these, through their respective sinful acts, fall into the hell of great darkenss.

healther - 2005-8-7 14:48:00

For some reason,I have to argue with you on your assertion that "He is all-omnipotent and omniscient" only by logic.

If God is "all-omnipotent and omniscient",can't He creat a stone that He Himself can't hold up?If He can creat  a stone that  He Himself can't hold up,then He is not "all-omnipotent and omniscient", if He can't creat a stone that He Himself can hold up,then He, absolutely is not "all-omnipotent and omniscient".Hehe------

Firstly, this argument is irrelevant, plus it's simply foolish.

Do not think a little pate can guess or speculate on the greatness of God.  Just be honestly in your own shoes and bear in mind that "curiosity kills the cat" only.  You're simply no up to that stage.  Be your own self-concocted truth first. Who cares one more nonbeliever on the earth out of millions?

Bruce_Lee - 2005-8-8 17:54:00

Love suffereth long, and is kind; love envieth not; love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not its own, is not provoked, taketh not account of veil; rejoiceth not in unrighteousness, but rejoiceth with the truth; bearth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

I suppose I've irritated you several times,Uncle Lee.I apologize and hope you forgive me.

I still think that things happen with reasons, though I can't investigate them inl my all life, but I will try my best.I do know that there are believers and nonbelievers in this world, and I understand why.But I suppose that you and me are the same man to seek truth, and as we all know that truth is not too easy to be found, that's why there are materialists and idealists in this world.I argue with you not because I want to trouble you on purpose, but because that I really want to which is truth, and I think the best and convenient way to find truth is debate. That's why I always make trouble to you,and I think you are a knowledgeable man who can help me solve my bewilderment.

Anyway, I am indebted to you for your help and enlightenment.I will not argue with you on belief any more, just like in2english said"This world is colorful just because of our different ideas."Even though materialism is truth, but that's helplesss for our view of life, everybody has right to choose his belief.Maybe I will change my idea and be a idealist like you and Doc.

     Thank you again!

topic here are so profound.//it's so hard to understand/

i hope to join u .but i think i can't...indeed hard for me /

Bruce_Lee - 2005-8-12 0:23:00

Hi Sophie,

Yes, the topic here is a bit hard for a beginner to fully follow.  But I don't think you're still a beginner.  So you're warmly welcome to just say something (even on certain points). Just try it and no need to make a big lecture, hah...

Again, welcome to join us.

Bruce_Lee - 2005-8-12 14:41:00

Hi Healther.  Sorry for the delay.

No problem, no apology please.  You're always forgiven.

Just like you do, I've never thought that things happen not with their own cause.  However, as I've already stated in my very first post that truth exists at the same time when the world is created for the benefit of all the living creatures!  As the greatest treasure and cultural heritage for human beings, the original truth is still available and accessible even though those who have actually mastered such truth are quite rare in the world especially in present days. Fortunately, unlike what you're trying to do now, I've already found my final truth, and I'm very convinced that there's no other truth higher or more sublime than that.  Frankly speaking,  now I don't have to take so much trouble like many other people still trying so hard to seek some so-called truth in this world, for which it might indeed take millions of lifetimes.

Debate is certainly necessary at the very beginning of the seeking process.  Yet if there're certain truths on the way, which have been found out and experienced by our predecessors or forefathers or even those great powerful and perfect saints in the past, then I'm afraid you've to put your constant argument on hold (Just have it suspended) and make an experiment your own and see or test the outcome of a certain truth-- to verify its practicability on yourself.  It is understood and widely accepted to be normal and authorized process in one's truth seeking.  Let me give you a simply example.  There are always sick people in this world.  But fortunately, the persons (physicians) or medication by which a patient can be cured also exists.  Therefore, instead of keep arguing, what a patient needs to do is simply take the professional advice and prescription given by the qualified doctor.  That should be the proper attitude of a patient -- simply to accept the professional treatment of the doctor.  Do you think there's any way better than that?

(to be continued)

Bruce_Lee - 2005-8-12 14:41:00

So since according to your own statement that "even though materialism is truth, but that's helpless for our view of life", then why not just give this "helpless materialism" up (even for a short while) and  take to spiritualism instead, which is definitely helpful to your inner spirit -- a way I've accepted and have been practising for more than 20 years till now.  Now Healther, let me ask you what you consider the most important thing in life?  Fame, name, power, money, beautiful women or the extreme and constant PEACE / contentedness of your inner soul??  If your answer is the former ones, then I think it's better put an end to our time-consuming discussion by just talking about something else--those less important subject matters--instead.   Now the full choice is in your own hand.  Think about it.  Again, no force.

healther - 2005-8-13 17:53:00

Well,I don't know how to express myself now.

Truth, truth, truth…"What's truth?"I think materialist and idealist(or spiritualist) can not reach consensus on truth. And this phenomenon makes me very painful,I'd like to give up seeking truth, furthermore,I want to commit suicide sometimes."I've already found my final truth, and I'm very convinced that there's no other truth higher or more sublime than that."Beside you,I am no luck. And I think the truth is not so easy to be found,so I will keep on.

"Even though materialism is truth, but that's helpless for our view of life",yes,I think materialism has its limitation, which makes people purchase "fame, name, power, money, beautiful women", and they wil do very little thing to enhance their inner value and personal growth.Frankly speaking,I am a materialist for the present, and the limitation of materialism performs on me.I really want to purify my inner value, but sometimes there are lots of troublesome parts of things over which that you can have little or no control.I must confess that I am not up to the purifiedspiritual stage.I have so many wordly desires, and I think this is because our experiences are different.I have a sick father,a kind-hearted mother,a brother, they are always supportive of my studies,I am much indebted to them that I can't pay them with all my life, but still I have to.

Anyway,I am still going to purify my inner value, and I will never give up.Remember,I told  you that your life philosophy will always leads me——wherever I am and whatever I do.

Bruce_Lee - 2005-8-14 18:56:00

Don't worry, boy.  Your confusion will be gone as soon as you put your feet down by taking the authorized process.

Just forget about the so-called "consensus".  Why need to look at such stupid "consensus" in seeking one's truth?  Truth is always truth and need no consensus to become truth again.  Truth is like fire, which nature is light and heat.  So shall we have to wait for any consensus to prove the nature of fire?  NO!  It's simply foolish trying to do so!  Similarly, the fire of materialism is like poison, the more one takes it, the quicker he dies.  However, the fire of spiritualism can burn out all one's lusty desires to ashes, and save him from the greatest danger of repeated birth and death in this material world.

I fully understand you still have many worldly desires to fulfill and have heavy duties with family maintenance.  However, this is practically the case with almost everyone in this world.  Don't you think I don't have such problems with my family?  Honestly, my case may probably be worse than yours.  My dear grandma passed away when I was 12, parents divorced the year after; no schooling after 15 with the youngest brother still a drug addict, so I don't think we have different experience with family problems.  The picture may be different, but still with the quite similar pitiful experience.  However, these are never impediments for one's seeking his truth!  Where this is a will, there is a way.  I always believe in this great saying.  So eventually, by the light of spiritual knowledge, I've got many of my doubts and bewilderments scatter away, my mind so peaceful, my soul and my whole existence being purified by merging myself into the ocean of the Absolute Truth I've found.  I believe this is absolutely a godsend or great fortune, but with no privilege for all.  Even a poor man can have it.  Please try to understand that the greatest truth is available and attainable even to the most unqualified and sinful person.  But one's acceptance or nor is the main issue.  In order to get such a godsend, one's sincerity and humility is the very first precondition.

Now I wonder in which way you're going to purity your inner value and how to make sure you won't give up in the midway.  Healther, of course I'll never forget your commitment to me in your reply to one of my earlier post (about 1 month ago), and I'm glad that my "life philosophy" is somewhat helpful to you.  What's your next step then?

healther - 2005-8-14 21:15:00

Thank you very much, and I am very glad to see your this post.

I think it's hard to be a complete materialist;and it's also hard to be a complete idealist. There are many people change their belief from materialism to idealism, there must be a middle point.

"Now I wonder in which way you're going to purify your inner value and how to make sure you won't give up in the midway. " Uncle Lee,I am sorry to tell you that I think it's hard to say.I can hardly imagine that I quickly change myself to be a idealist, this is hard to say.Maybe I will stick to materialism with all my life; maybe I will change my belief to idealism after something happens.

So I can't promise, just see the time comes.

Bruce_Lee - 2005-8-15 22:52:00

Thank you for your reply.  You’re correct that it’s hard to make almost anything happen in this world, especially in one’s endeavor to seek the highest Truth.  As I’ve told you not long ago that it may take millions of lifetimes to achieve such perfectional stage.  However, since such Truth is now with me after a long long search, how can I let it slip from my hand so easily by taking the so-called middle point?  Returning to same old point means spiritual suicide to me.  I can only go further and further for the ultimate salvation since I deeply know that’s no alternative but the only safe way to go in the deep dark ocean of material existence.

Healther, for yourself, I believe the big society is the best classroom for you to learn your various kinds of lessons before you make your choice as to become a materialist or idealist or this –list or that -list.  I also believe that the most powerful Time Factor of the Supreme Lord will always guide you all the way through the Lord’s another mighty agent known as Maya Devi.  No rush, young man.  The good seeds have been planted within the core of your heart by your strong desire to seek the great truth.  In due course, you’ll definitely reap what you’ve sowed.  You are blessed, anyway.   God will never forget what you’ve said.  Be good.

healther - 2005-8-16 17:45:00

Frankly speaking,I really adore people who are not purchasing money and honor in this world. But for me,I can hardly do it.It seems like that I am taking a train driving to the future, there is spectacular landscapes I am passing by,I just appreciate that, but I can not get off the train to identfy myself with the landscapes. There is always gap between that landscapes and me that I can not bridge it.The people on the train sometimes cheer, but most of them never venture to take off the train,a handful of people do it,and they soon disppear in our sights. We don't know how they get along with the new world,we are just envious of them, but for ourselves, never, ever want to venture.

i'm a newcomer here, first  i should say that my english is so poor and limited ,if i have some mistakes and shortcoming ,please point out for me ` `thanks in advance~yesterday i accidentally browsed this website while i was working. just a few minutes later, i got very excited and interested in this forum, that's incredible to some extent for me. I really like this place , it can improve my english and increase my insight and experience>
Bruth, healther   i envy u so much for u are both knowledgeable and own your own particular opinions. No matter it's right or wrong, it's not the key point in my opinion `` somebody always are trying to search for something useful and meaningful in his life. in another word, he has a goal, maybe there are lots of goals for him in different periods. at least, it's worth doing and when he recall the misery and happiness of his past, he can say loudly :"i seldom wasted my limited life, i have private friends or sweet wife or good fame or  large fortune etc. whatever u pursue in your road doesn't matter. only the sense of satisfaction from which u gain is priceless~~
it's just my own opinion `i have no intention to change others or convincing them`  for we are all different individuals who have our own personalities, though in some way we'll be affected by others and surroundings!
hope u can lead a happy life everyday~` best wishes!

Bruce_Lee - 2005-8-17 17:26:00

Hi shooter,

So nice to meet you here. My I ask if you've also registered the same name in another English learning forum?  It looks quite familar to my eyes. :)

Apparently, you're a mature person and probably have experienced a lot at work and in actual life.  Otherwise you wouldn't have your own particular opinion on things.  I especially appreciate your "I have no intention to change others or convincing them`  for we are all different individuals who have our own personalities, though in some way we'll be affected by others and surroundings!" You're 100% correct that we don't have to force others into our ideas or concepts.  Yet I would still like to present my point of view for others' information if such presentation is thought to be useful and lucrative for the purification the audience's heart and soul.  As you've put it that some people are apt to be affected by others and their surroundings, so just let them choose their own "medicine". ha ha~~~~ I believe in "缘分".

Thanks and best regards,

Bruce
